What is Music Heals

Since 2012, Music Heals has raised awareness and funds to increase access to music therapy for vulnerable Canadians. Music Heals supports a wide range of music therapy services in communities in BC and across Canada.

We are a group of music enthusiasts and music lovers who have come together to help raise awareness of the healing powers of music. Music Heals Charitable Foundation supports a wide range of music therapy services to communities in BC and across Canada. We increase access to music therapy for patients in children’s hospitals, senior’s centres, palliative care, AIDS & HIV programs, at-risk youth, habilitation, and bereavement support. We partner with each program we fund to tell real stories of impact and sustain music therapy programming.

To date Music Heals has funded over $3 million to music therapy programs for Canadians in need.

About Music Heals

Benefits of Music Therapy

Music can be beneficial for anyone. Although it can be used therapeutically for people who have physical, emotional, social, or cognitive deficits, even those who are healthy can use music to relax, reduce stress, improve mood, or to accompany exercise.

There are no potentially harmful or toxic effects. Music therapists help their patients achieve a number of goals through music, including improvement of communication, academic strengths, attention span, and motor skills. They may also assist with behavioral therapy and pain management.

Funded Programs

Music Heals has donated over $3 million to music therapy programs across  the country serving children, seniors, palliative care, burn units, the autism spectrum, AIDS & HIV, bereavement, at-risk youth, rehabilitation, and more.
