March is Music Therapy Awareness Month
March 17, 2026

Throughout the month, Music Heals is bringing the conversation into the community — and inside real music therapy sessions — to show how professionally guided music therapy is changing lives throughout BC.
Join us as we celebrate the healing power of music and raise awareness about how music therapy supports individuals of all ages in improving their physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being.
Music impacts everyone. Access changes everything.
What Does Music Mean to You?
We asked participants in the Music Therapy Program at the Dr. Peter Centre — and their answers remind us that music can be connection, release, confidence, memory, and healing.
At the Dr. Peter Centre, music therapy supports individuals living with HIV/AIDS through songwriting, open studio sessions, jam circles, recording opportunities, and reflective music groups. As part of the Centre’s trauma-informed, holistic care model, the program helps participants build confidence, reduce isolation, and strengthen emotional wellbeing — especially for those navigating stigma and barriers to care.
Community Partnership: Parkside Brewery x Music Heals
Music Heals is partnering with The Parkside Brewery this month to help expand access to music therapy in our community.
Throughout March, Parkside Brewery will be donating $1 from every pint of Dusk Pale Ale and Motel Hazy Pale Ale to support Music Heals’ funded music therapy programs.
With the support of local partners, we’re raising funds to amplify Music Therapy Awareness Month and bring life-changing therapy programs to more people who need them.
We sat down with Sam, Managing Partner at Parkside Brewing, to talk about why this partnership with Music Heals matters — and why supporting music therapy is something Parkside believes in.
For Parkside, community isn’t just a word — it’s who gathers around the table, who shows up for one another, and who believes local businesses can play a role in supporting mental health and wellbeing.
Come gather, raise a glass, and celebrate the power of music — and the impact it can have in our community.
Here’s how you can help expand access to life-changing music therapy programs
$150 — Funds 2 hours of music therapy
$300 — Funds 1 session every week for a month
$4000 — Sponsors a full music therapy program for a year
